1: But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach their destructive heresies about God and even turn against their Master who bought them. Theirs will be a swift and terrible end.

Deuteronomy 13:1

Colossians 2:18

- They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.
- They will act as if they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. You must stay away from people like that.
Titus 3:10
- If anyone is causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with that person.
Mark 13:22
- For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform miraculous signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God's chosen ones.
Ephesians 4:14

- They must be silenced. By their wrong teaching, they have already turned whole families away from the truth. Such teachers only want your money.

- These teachers are hypocrites and liars. They pretend to be religious, but their consciences are dead.
- They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanksgiving by people who know and believe the truth.
Hebrews 10:29
- Think how much more terrible the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God and have treated the blood of the covenant as if it were common and unholy. Such people have insulted and enraged the Holy Spirit who brings God's mercy to his people.
Philippians 3:19
- Their future is eternal destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and all they think about is this life here on earth.
Galatians 4:17
- Those false teachers who are so anxious to win your favor are not doing it for your good. They are trying to shut you off from me so that you will pay more attention to them.
Acts 20:28
- "And now beware! Be sure that you feed and shepherd God's flock--his church, purchased with his blood--over whom the Holy Spirit has appointed you as elders.
- I know full well that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock.
- Even some of you will distort the truth in order to draw a following.
2 Corinthians 11:13
- These people are false apostles. They have fooled you by disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
- But I am not surprised! Even Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light.
- So it is no wonder his servants can also do it by pretending to be godly ministers. In the end they will get every bit of punishment their wicked deeds deserve.
Jeremiah 23:16
- This is my warning to my people," says the LORD Almighty. "Do not listen to these prophets when they prophesy to you, filling you with futile hopes. They are making up everything they say. They do not speak for the LORD!
- They keep saying to these rebels who despise my word, `Don't worry! The LORD says you will have peace!' And to those who stubbornly follow their own evil desires, they say, `No harm will come your way!'
Lamentations 2:14
- Your "prophets" have said so many foolish things, false to the core. They did not try to hold you back from exile by pointing out your sins. Instead, they painted false pictures, filling you with false hope.

Acts 3:13

Isaiah 56:10

- How long will this go on? If they are prophets, they are prophets of deceit, inventing everything they say.
- By telling these false dreams, they are trying to get my people to forget me, just as their ancestors did by worshiping the idols of Baal.
- Let these false prophets tell their dreams, but let my true messengers faithfully proclaim my every word. There is a difference between chaff and wheat!
- Does not my word burn like fire?" asks the LORD. "Is it not like a mighty hammer that smashes rock to pieces?
Jeremiah 28:15
- Then Jeremiah the prophet said to Hananiah, "Listen, Hananiah! The LORD has not sent you, but the people believe your lies.
- Therefore, the LORD says you must die. Your life will end this very year because you have rebelled against the LORD."
- Two months later, Hananiah died.
1 Kings 22:6

- Can your visions be anything but false if you claim, `This message is from the LORD,' when I have not even spoken to you?
Deuteronomy 32:6
- Is this the way you repay the LORD, you foolish and senseless people? Isn't he your Father who created you? Has he not made you and established you?
